AUTOMATION CONTROLS REPAIRS / CNC CONTROLS REPAIRS

AUTOMATION CONTROLS REPAIRS / CNC CONTROLS REPAIRS

The manufacturing sector uses CNC(Computer Numerical Controls) machining; combination of computers and machine tools to create precise and specialized parts/products. Such processes are regularly used for applications relying on exact positioning. Lathes, mills, floor borers, turning centers, routers, and grinders are all variations of CNC machines. The CNC processes rely on exact positioning are both complex and require precision. CNC control system parts malfunction from time to time due their exposure harsh environment and continuous operation.

A CNC machine down situation can spell disaster for the production process. There are number of electronically controlled parts of the system of a CNC controller that could malfunction; power controls, limit switch interfaces, servo motor drivers, protection circuitry or even the power source itself.

Axxa provides repairs and sales of a wide range of CNC core electronic CNC system components such as processor, memory, axis, communications, I/O interface and peripheral control boards. In addition, we also perform repairs, diagnostics and testing of CNC servo drives, servo motors, spindle drives/motors, power supplies, HMIs/Operator Interfaces, tape loaders and other program storage devices as well. This complete line of CNC diagnostic testing coupled with our qualified service technicians ensures a quality repair every time!  Some of the common CNC malfunction problems are: -
STUCK AXIS
A mechanical hang-up to the proper movement of one or more axis of the CNC machine can cause a CNC Controller failure. In order to execute all of the correct cuts and grinds, the device needs to be able to smoothly move on all three axes (X, Y and Z). If the CNC controller is reporting an alarm, for example, that the z-axis is stuck, this indicates that the machine’s inability to properly move along that plane.
Even a very minute obstruction can cause of this tricky error; may be that there is something stuck between the nut and the screw or the slides are out of alignment. This could cause the entire cutter to freeze up, but it may be possible to narrow down the issue by running the device through the whole range of motion. ContactAxxa CNC specialists to identify any axis errors your CNC is experiencing.

BROKEN EMERGENCY STOP LOOP

The emergency stop loop on a CNC controller is designed to halt the operation of any machinery in case of a potential safety hazard. However, at times the emergency stop loop keeps running through the CNC system when there is no actual cause for it to be doing so.This is known as a broken emergency stop loop.
If the Ready light is blinking and the controller is not enabled, it is most likely that a broken emergency stop loop is the issue. One way to diagnose this is to disengage all emergency stop switches, and then attempt to enable the controller. It is always helpful to have another person to click to enable the device while someone else watches the LED display. If the ready light blinks once after the controller is enabled, it indicates a broken emergency stop loop.
There could be other causes for this issue; broken or detached wiring in the emergency stop box, bent or dislodged pins in the control board itself. Determining the specific cause is detailed procedure that requires carefully removing jumpers one at a time and turning the machine off and on again to narrow down where the problem is.

RUNAWAY AXIS

When this error occurs, one axis of the machine travels too far and may even crash, which is called‘taking off.’It may be due to a damaged cable or may also be the encoder needs repairs/replacement. One indicator of this problem is if the Positional Display numbers do not accurately reflect the change in position when the axis is moved manually.
